Information on how to use enzyme cleaners in the ultrasonic bath

The mode of action of enzyme cleaners is based upon the destruction of proteins. Depending on the temperature, this process can take a relatively long time and, depending on the degree of soiling, may last up to 12 hours. Ultrasound does not considerably reduce the time required.

Temperatures >45 °C will deactivate the enzymes (Do not use heating).

Despite this fact, an enzyme cleaner may be used in an ultrasonic bath if it has been designed for this purpose. You must pay strict attention to the manufacturer’s instructions.

After wet deposit in disinfectant, you must rinse all instruments very carefully. Even traces of disinfectant may deactivate the enzymes and prevent the cleaning process.

The bath should be renewed frequently (please follow the manufacturer’s instructions).
